My readers often ask me to write books on building construction.
Some of them even asked to package all the stuff in this blog as a book. But that wouldn’t serve any purpose.
So, I decided to write books which will serve specific purposes in building construction sector.
Although I’m writing in this blog since 2011, this is the first book I’ve ever published to sell.
There are many learning curves in the building construction industry. Such as Construction Process, Estimating, Supervising, Project Management, etc.
The things we learn during our engineering course in college or university aren’t sufficient to work on the field. You need to have practical experience.
So, I’ve written this book from my fifteen years of practical experience.
This book isn’t the overwhelming jam-packet theoretical data.
You can implement the techniques and instruction described in this book instantly without making yourself overwhelmed.
What’s In The Book?
As concreting is the most coverage area in building construction projects so I decided to write my first book on the concreting.
That is CONCRETE INSPECTION GUIDELINES. This is the title of the book.
AS you know, most of the buildings nowadays are RCC framed structure buildings. And the major portion of an RCC framed structure building is concrete.
The durability of a building mostly depends on the strength of concrete (you know what I mean). And the strength of concrete mostly depends on the close supervision and proper inspection of the concrete construction process.
Concrete inspection is mainly done in three steps. So, I divided this book’s content into three chapters.
Chapter 1: Pre-Concreting Inspection
Chapter 2: Inspection During Concreting
Chapter 3: Post Concreting Inspection.
How This Book Will Help You?
There are many things involved to successfully casting a concrete member.
First, you need to make sure that you have everything – Materials, equipment, and manpower – available in your site.
For this, you should have a list of all these things. So that you can check all the things present in your site.
It isn’t that you don’t know what you’ll require. You know that. But the problem is you might forget about some things. It’s human nature.
In this book, I made a list of those things.
Next, You’ll need to make sure that the workplace is safe enough for workers. So that no occurrence will happen during concreting.
You also need to make sure that the structure you’re going to cast is in accordance with the structural and architectural drawings.
In this book, I elaborately discuss how you can ensure the safety in your project. I also discussed how to make sure the structure is being built as per drawing and regulation.
Finally, you should ensure the quality of the structure. This is the ultimate purpose.
For ensuring quality, you need to check a series of things, step by step, during concreting and after concreting.
In this book, I discuss those things and provide guidelines on how to do that.
In short, This book will help you:
- To be well-prepared pouring concrete.
- To ensure the availability of required equipment and manpower.
- To ensure the structure are being built in accordance with the architectural plan.
- Ensuring safety.
- Inspecting formworks and reinforcement works.
- Ensuring quality during pouring concrete.
- Inspecting formwork removal and curing of concrete.
There is nothing new in this book. You’ll get the information everywhere – in your textbooks, online, and even from any civil engineers.
But It’s essential to do those things in a particular order, step by step. I just tried to gather all the things to inspect in a step by step format. So that you don’t forget anything. I did this from my practical experience and extremely easy to follow format.
That’s the specialty of this book.
This book can be a go-to resource for you to inspect the concreting works.
